Football alphabet: Quote.

"It’s a small boy clambering up stadium steps for the very first time, gripping his father’s hand, gawping at that hallowed stretch of turf beneath him and, without being able to do a thing about it, falling in love."

/Six shots later…
and I’m staring at my hands
trying to remember
how it felt to hold you

It all began…
with unsteady breaths and shaking hands
and I didn’t know that these butterflies
could drown in my stomach acid,
which I’m getting confused with passion

It all began…
when I became adrift in the void of your eyes
that replicates the ocean and the light blue skies
oh dear, I’m not sure how this started,
but I’m glad it did before you departed

For, my father broke my heart
long before any boy had the chance to,
so I built up my walls
not to let anyone through

But you made me forget about the past
and the growing pains that kept me up at night
for now I’m becoming attached
and I don’t know if I should be happy or in fright…

You kissed my scars and opened up to me
like the shore meets the sea
but I’m scared you’ll find out what has happened
and see why my eyes are blackened
only to be saddened
with what is fastened
in the deepest abyss of my heart
and see that it’s been pierced and ripped apart
You’ll see why I’m afraid of being hurt
for my soul is as barren as a desert
and is as coarse as dirt

So I set aside the past just to let you in
and confided my trust, which is so fragile and thin
I let down my walls, as did you
….and this is how it will begin
